SEO services in London that bring in enquiries, not just rankings

Ranking is not the goal. Enquiries are. Plenty of agencies will report a keyword moving from position 40 to position 18 and call it progress; if nobody clicks and nobody calls, nothing has happened. We work backwards from the searches that produce customers and build the pages, the technical foundations and the local signals that win them.

We're a small London studio doing SEO for UK small businesses. No twelve-month lock-ins, no minimum term, and monthly reporting written in plain English.

Where we start: the technical audit

Before writing a word of content we check the site can actually be crawled, indexed and ranked. That means Core Web Vitals and real load speed on mobile, crawl and indexation issues in Search Console, canonical and duplicate-content problems, broken internal links and orphan pages, structured data, and the metadata that decides what your listing looks like in the results.

A surprising share of small business SEO problems turn out to be technical. A site that takes six seconds to load on 4G, or that quietly tells Google every page is a duplicate of the homepage, cannot be fixed with blog posts.

Local SEO for London businesses

For most London small businesses the local pack — the three map results above the organic listings — takes a large share of the clicks. Winning a place there is a different job from ranking organically, and it's one your competitors usually do badly.

The work is unglamorous and effective:

  • Google Business Profile: every field completed, precise categories, real photos added regularly, accurate hours
  • Consistent name, address and phone number across directories and citations
  • A genuine, ongoing review strategy — volume and recency both count
  • Location and service pages that answer what local searchers actually type
  • LocalBusiness structured data so search engines can read your details unambiguously

Content that targets real searches

We research the questions your customers type before they buy, then write the pages that answer them. Not keyword-stuffed filler — genuinely useful content that earns the click and reads like a person wrote it, because one did.

That increasingly matters beyond Google. ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI overviews now answer a growing share of questions directly, and they cite clear, well-structured, factually specific pages. The same work that makes a page rank well makes it citable, which is why we build every site with structured data and clean semantic markup as standard.

Reporting and realistic timelines

SEO is a long game and anyone promising page one in a month is either guessing or lying. For most competitive London terms, expect meaningful movement in four to six months, with local and long-tail terms moving considerably faster — often within weeks.

You get a monthly report showing rankings, traffic, and the number that actually matters: enquiries. If something isn't working we say so and change it, rather than reframing a flat month as a win.

Frequently asked questions

How much do SEO services cost in London?

Ongoing SEO for a small business typically runs as a monthly retainer scaled to how competitive your market is and how much content work is needed. One-off technical audits are priced separately. We quote after reviewing your site and your competitors so the number reflects the actual work, and there's no minimum term and no long contract.

How long does SEO take to work?

Technical fixes can show up in weeks. Local SEO and long-tail terms often move within one to three months. Competitive London head terms usually take four to six months of consistent work before you see meaningful movement. Anyone promising faster on a competitive term is guessing.

Do you guarantee first-page rankings?

No, and neither can anyone else honestly — Google does not sell or promise positions. What we commit to is doing the work that reliably moves rankings, reporting results transparently every month, and changing approach when something isn't working.

Can you do SEO on a website you didn't build?

Yes. We audit and improve existing sites on any platform — WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace or custom builds. If the platform itself is capping your performance we'll tell you, but we won't insist on a rebuild you don't need.

What's the difference between local SEO and regular SEO?

Local SEO targets searches with geographic intent — 'accountant near me', 'plumber in Hackney' — and aims at the map pack as well as the organic results. It leans on your Google Business Profile, reviews, citations and location pages. Regular organic SEO targets non-geographic searches and depends more on content depth and links. Most London small businesses need both, weighted towards local.
